Fush & Chups is a seductive new collab that we've made with our homies from across the ditch, Garage Project. For the first time with GP we are mixing things up with a big, bold and downright luxurious Imperial Stout. We wanted to really have some fun with this beer and after a zoom call that spanned 3 countries we came up with the idea to make a silky stout with the iconic Kiwi delicacy - the chocolate fish.
Pete from GP flew in for the occasion and brought with him 40kgs of the finest NZ chocolate fish. We added the chocolate fish into the brew during the whirlpool stage then conditioned it on Tahitian vanilla bean and french oak chips.
The result? A silky, thick, rich and incredibly moreish Imperial Stout. We get hit with deep chocolate notes upfront on the palate which quickly switch to raspberry marshmallow, rocky road and Neapolitan ice cream flavours. On the backend of the palate, and particularly as the beer warms, we get a beautiful vanilla kick courtesy of the oak chips and vanilla beans. This beer turned out exactly how we imagined, we insist that you try it.
